MOD Seva Vanitha Unit provides financial aid to
flood-affected employees

The Seva Vanitha Unit (SVU) of the Ministry of Defence made a financial contribution to support Ministry staff members affected by floods during the recent adverse weather that affected large parts of the country.
In a simple ceremony held at the Ministry premises today (Jun 12), Defence Secretary General Kamal Gunaratne presented financial assistance to several Ministry employees who were affected by the floods. The initiative, which underscores the Ministry’s commitment to the welfare of its staff was taken on a concept of the Chairperson of MOD SVU Mrs. Chithrani Gunaratne.
Senior Ministry officials including Additional Secretaries and SVU representatives were present at the occasion.
