New Maldivian High Commissioner calls on SL Defence Secretary
July 02, 2024The newly appointed High Commissioner of the Republic of Maldives to Sri Lanka H.E. Masood Imad paid a courtesy call on Defence Secretary General Kamal Gunaratne at the Defence Ministry in Sri Jayawardenepura, Kotte today (02 Jul).
Gen. Gunaratne warmly received the Maldivian envoy upon his arrival at the Defence Ministry this afternoon.
Gen. Gunaratne extended warm wishes to the Maldivian envoy during the cordial discussion on his new appointment. He also stated his desire to further strengthen the existing close friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
Military Liaison Officer at the Ministry of Defence Major General Dhammika Welagedara and Defence Advisor of Maldives in Sri Lanka Colonel Hassan Amir were also present at the occasion.
