Sri Lanka’s total recovery from the virus rose to 31,338 persons - NOCPCO
December 26, 2020The total Coronavirus positives identified during the last 24 hours ending at 06.00 a.m. today (December 26) stands at 551 and the total cases in the country increased to 39,781, the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) stated.
All the positives identified yesterday were Sri Lankans while 300 of them have been identified from Colombo District, 52 from Gampaha District, 37 from Kaluthara District and 162 persons from other districts, the NOCPCO confirmed today (December 26).
The number of infected persons associated with the Minuwangoda and Peliyagoda Fish Market cluster increased to 36,077 and out of them, a total of 27,931 have left hospitals following complete recovery.
NOCPCO also stated that a total of 14,933 PCR tests were conducted yesterday (25).
Meanwhile, the total arrival in the country as of today morning reads as 139 which included 58 persons from India, 50 persons from Qatar, 31 from United Arab Emirates. They all will be referred to quarantine centres managed by Tri-Forces.
A total of 771 persons have left hospitals yesterday after complete recovery from the virus.
The total recovery from the virus in the country rose to 31,338 persons. 8,257 Coronavirus patients are undergoing medical treatments while 6,276 persons are quarantining under 79 centres managed by Tri-Forces, NOCPCO added.
The country’s COVID-19 death toll has increased to 186 along with one Coronavirus death reported during the last 24 hours.
