Youth should have the right attitude to get
ahead in life - State Minister Tennakoon

‘Having the right attitude is as important as having skills, intelligence, knowledge and talent to succeed. Change is hard to come by and sometimes the first step is the hardest’. State Minister of Defence Hon. Premitha Bandara Tennakoon said so while addressing the distinguished attendees, as the Chief Guest of the 05th New Generation Asia Youth Awards 2024, at the Shangri-La Hotel, Colombo, on Monday (Jul 08).

Mr. Ovin Amarathunga Chair of the New Generation Asia inaugurated the Awards Ceremony with the theme ‘Striving beyond the Status Quo’.

The awards ceremony organized by the Women in Management (WIM) New Generation of Sri Lanka and the National Youth Services Council (NYSC) recognizes remarkable talents and initiatives emerging from diverse cultural backgrounds of young leaders across Asia. The Youth Top 40 New Generation Asia Awards 2024 recognized 40 exceptional youth across 33 categories for their outstanding achievements, leadership and contributions to the economy and society.

Dr. Sulochana Segera, Chairperson of WIM, is the visionary founder of the New Generation Awards, a fantastic forum designed to celebrate brilliant and exceptional young individuals.

The event was attended by Chairman of NYSC Pasindu Gunaratne, Senior DIG Ajith Rohana, members of the diplomatic corps, private sector leaders and youth representing the Sri Lankan business economy and society.
