Defence Ministry and Army Seva Vanitha Units host
School Equipment and Book Distribution Programme

Seva Vanitha Unit (SVU) of the Ministry of Defence (MOD) in collaboration with Sri Lanka Army SVU hosted a School Equipment and Book Distribution Programme at Kurana Primary School and Kalupahana Kanishta Vidyalaya, Horana today (Aug 12).
The programme was conducted with the presence of the Chairperson of MODSVU, Mrs. Chithrani Gunaratne and the Army SVU President Mrs. Janaki Liyanage. The programme benefited students from both schools. They received essential school supplies worth approx. Rs.10,000 each including school bags, stationery and pairs of shoes needed for the entire year.
MOD’s Additional Secretary (Administration) Mr. Gaminie Mahagamage, Additional Secretary (Parliament Affairs and Policy) Mrs. Indika Wijegunawardana, Additional Secretary (Civil Security and Development) Mr. Saman Dissanayake, Military Liaison Officer Major General Dhammika Welagedara, General Officer Commanding of the 61 Infantry Division Major General KHMS Wikramarathne and members of the SVU were also present at the occasion.
