New Zealand High Commissioner calls on Defence Secretary
August 14, 2024New Zealand High Commissioner to Sri Lanka, His Excellency David Pine paid a courtesy call on the Defence Secretary General Kamal Gunaratne at the Defence Ministry in Sri Jayawardenepura, Kotte today (Aug 14).
Following a warm reception, General Gunaratne had a cordial discussion with the New Zealand envoy this morning. The Defence Secretary extended his compliments for the recent appointment of the New Zealand envoy and expressed his desire to work closely with him to enhance bilateral relations and defence cooperation.
The New Zealand High Commissioner thanked the Defence Secretary for his commitment to work towards better cooperation and enhancing existing close ties.
Military Liaison Officer of the Ministry of Defence Maj. Gen. Dhammika Welagedara was also present at the occasion.
