Sri Lanka’s total recovery from the virus rose to 32,700 persons - NOCPCO
December 28, 2020The total Coronavirus positives identified during the last 24 hours ending at 06.00 a.m. today (December 28) stands at 674 and the total cases in the country increased to 41,053, the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) stated.
Six persons among the total positives identified yesterday was a Sri Lankan repatriated from overseas, while 174 of them have been identified from Colombo District, 153 from Gampaha District, 110 from Kaluthara District and 231 persons from other districts, the NOCPCO confirmed today (December 28).
The number of infected persons associated with the Minuwangoda and Peliyagoda Fish Market cluster increased to 37,338 and out of them, a total of 29,943 have left hospitals following complete recovery.
NOCPCO also stated that a total of 11,060 PCR tests were conducted yesterday (27).
Meanwhile, the total arrival in the country as of today morning reads as 36 which included 16 persons from Qatar, 02 from Saudi Arabia and 18 from India. They all will be referred to quarantine centres managed by Tri-Forces.
A total of 650 persons have left hospitals yesterday after complete recovery from the virus.
The total recovery from the virus in the country rose to 32,700 persons. 8,162 Coronavirus patients are undergoing medical treatments while 5,595 persons are quarantining under 74 centres managed by Tri-Forces, NOCPCO added.
