Children of Army families receive school accessories
December 28, 2020The Army’s Sri Lanka National Guard (SLNG) Regiment organized a ceremony of donating school accessories to children of Army families, yesterday (Dec 27) at the Sri Lanka National Guard (SLNG), Kurunegala.
Chief of Defence Staff and Army Commander Lt. Gen. Shavendra Silva and Army Seva Vanitha Unit (SVU) President, Mrs Sujeewa Nelson gave away a stock of donation worth over one million rupees to a representative gathering of 105 pre-school kids and students of SLNG families.
The SLNG has made arrangements to deliver the donation packs to other children to their homes and the SLNG SVU sponsored the donation.
Colonel of the Regiment - SLNG and Military Secretary, Maj. Gen. Jayashantha Gamage, SLNG SVU Chairperson, SLNG Centre Commandant, senior officers, other ranks and parents were present at the occasion.
