520 persons left hospitals yesterday after complete recovery from the virus

The total Coronavirus positives identified during the last 24 hours ending at 06.00 a.m. today (December 29) stands at 549 and the total cases in the country increased to 41,602, the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) stated.

Nineteen persons among the total positives identified yesterday were Sri Lankans repatriated from overseas, while 237 of them have been identified from Colombo District, 44 from Kandy District, 124 from Gampaha District and 125 persons from other districts, the NOCPCO confirmed today (December 29).

The number of infected persons associated with the Minuwangoda and Peliyagoda Fish Market cluster increased to 37,868 and out of them, a total of 30,463 have left hospitals following complete recovery.

NOCPCO also stated that a total of 12,236 PCR tests were conducted yesterday (28).

Meanwhile, the total arrival in the country as of today morning reads as 108 which included 13 persons from Abu Dhabi, 83 persons from Qatar, 12 from Maldives . They all will be referred to quarantine centres managed by Tri-Forces.

A total of 520 persons have left hospitals yesterday after complete recovery from the virus.

The total recovery from the virus in the country rose to 33,220 persons. 8,188 Coronavirus patients are undergoing medical treatments while 5,855 persons are quarantining under 74 centres managed by Tri-Forces, NOCPCO added.

The country’s COVID-19 death toll has increased to 194 along with three Coronavirus deaths reported during the last 24 hours.
