•    NBRO issues Landslide warning to several areas

The wet weather experienced in parts of the island will likely continue, according to the Meteorological Department's latest weather report issued this morning (Nov. 06).

The Met. Department forecasts showers or thundershowers during the evening or night in several places in the Central, Sabaragamuwa, Uva, Southern, and Western provinces. Fairly heavy showers above 50 mm are likely in some places.

Meanwhile, the National Building Research Organization (NBRO) has issued Level 2 (Amber) landslide warnings to Kuruwita, Eheliyagoda, and Ratnapura Divisional Secretariat (DS) divisions in the Ratnapura district.

This landslide warning also includes Kegalle, Dehiovita, Yatiyantota, Bulathkohupitiya, Ruwanwella, Warakapola, Deraniyagala, Aranayake, and Galigamuwa DS divisions in the Kegalle district.

The NBRO has also issued Level 1 (yellow) landslide warnings to areas in the Badulla, Galle, Kalutara, Kandy, Kegalle, Kurunegala, Matara, and Ratnapura districts.

The Met Department also forecasts showers at seas off the coast extending from Colombo to Pottuvil via Galle and Hambantota.
