704 persons left hospitals yesterday after complete recovery from the virus

The total Coronavirus positives identified during the last 24 hours ending at 06.00 a.m. today (December 30) stands at 460 and the total cases in the country increased to 42,062 the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) stated.

Four persons among the total positives identified yesterday were Sri Lankans repatriated from overseas and three persons were foreigners repatriated from overseas while 249 of them have been identified from Colombo District, 52 from Gampaha District, 38 from Kandy District and 114 persons from other districts, the NOCPCO confirmed today (December 30).

The number of infected persons associated with the Minuwangoda and Peliyagoda Fish Market cluster increased to 38,321 and out of them, a total of 31,167 have left hospitals following complete recovery.

NOCPCO also stated that a total of 8,668 PCR tests were conducted yesterday (29).

Meanwhile, the total arrival in the country as of today morning reads as 337 which included 25 person  from Maldives,  305 persons from United Arab Emirates, 07 persons from Qatar. They all will be referred to quarantine centres managed by Tri-Forces.

The total recovery from the virus in the country rose to 33,924 persons. 7,943 Coronavirus patients are undergoing medical treatments while 5,362 persons are quarantining under 75 centres managed by Tri-Forces, NOCPCO added.

The country’s COVID-19 death toll has increased to 195 along with one Coronavirus death reported during the last 24 hours.
