Ministry of Defence attends to the issues of retired and disabled
war veterans and the families of fallen heroes during Public Day

The Ministry of Defence has implemented a range of special programs aimed at ensuring the welfare of the families of war heroes who sacrificed their lives for the nation, as well as addressing the needs and concerns of retired and disabled war veterans. These initiatives focus on providing comprehensive support and effectively resolving their issues.

As part of its ongoing efforts, the Ministry of Defence held its Public Day program today (Dec 17)  at the ministry  premises under the patronage of Defence Secretary Air Vice Marshal Sampath Thuyacontha (Retd).

In the course of the day's programme, the Defence Secretary implemented essential measures to address some of the issues faced by the families of fallen war heroes who sacrificed their lives for the nation's freedom. Additionally, efforts were made to resolve the challenges encountered by war heroes who sustained disabilities during operations, in accordance with government circulars.

The Defence Secretary also  issued clear instructions to the ministry staff and other relevant officials to ensure the efficient execution of administrative tasks aimed at supporting the welfare of the individuals concerned.

In line with government policies and regulations, the Ministry of Defence is implementing these programs to enhance the quality of life for retired and disabled war veterans, as well as the families of fallen heroes. These initiatives aim to boost their morale and express the nation’s gratitude for their invaluable contributions.
