A total of 12,926 PCR tests conducted yesterday (30) - NOCPCO
December 31, 2020The total Coronavirus positives identified during the last 24 hours ending at 06.00 a.m. today (December 31) stands at 639 and the total cases in the country increased to 42,701, the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) stated.
Three persons among the total positives identified yesterday were foreigners repatriated from overseas, while 190 have been identified from Gampaha District, 133 from Colombo District, 89 from Kandy District and 224 persons from other districts, the NOCPCO confirmed today (December 31).
The number of infected persons associated with the Minuwangoda and Peliyagoda Fish Market cluster increased to 38,957 and out of them, a total of 31,865 have left hospitals following complete recovery.
NOCPCO also stated that a total of 12,926 PCR tests were conducted yesterday (30).
Meanwhile, the total arrival in the country as of today morning reads as 38 persons from Qatar. They all will be referred to quarantine centres managed by Tri-Forces.
A total of 698 persons have left hospitals yesterday after complete recovery from the virus.
The total recovery from the virus in the country rose to 34,622 persons. 7,880 Coronavirus patients are undergoing medical treatments while 5,588 persons are quarantining under 76 centres managed by Tri-Forces, NOCPCO added.
The country’s COVID-19 death toll has increased to 199 along with four Coronavirus deaths reported during the last 24 hours.
