Air Vice Marshal Shehan Wijayanayake appointed as Director of NACWC
January 03, 2025His Excellency President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has appointed Air Vice Marshal Shehan Wijayanayake as the new Director of the National Authority for the Implementation of the Chemical Weapons Convention (NACWC), effective January 2, 2025.
The newly appointed Director NACWC received his appointment letter from the Defence Secretary Air Vice Marshal Sampath Thuyacontha (Retd).
Air Vice Marshal Wijayanayake officially assumed his duties yesterday (Jan 2) at the NACWC office within the Ministry of Defence. The ceremony was attended by the Additional Secretary - Defence Services, Mr. Jayantha Edirisinghe, along with the NACWC staff, marking the commencement of his tenure.
