Midshipman T.M.I. Vimukthi Tennakoon of the Sri Lanka Navy (SLN) was honored with the prestigious Sword of Honour during the commissioning parade of the 122nd Midshipmen and 30th Short Service Commission (SSC) Course at the Pakistan Naval Academy (PNA) in Karachi.

The event, held with great pomp and the ceremony was graced by Chief of the Air Staff of Pakistan Air Force, Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, as the Chief Guest.

Midshipman Tennakoon is a proud product of St. Annes College Kurunegala and his remarkable achievement is a rare distinction, as only a selected few allied officer cadets have earned this prestigious accolade in the academy’s history.

Founded in 1970, the Pakistan Naval Academy is recognized as one of the most technologically advanced military training institutions in Pakistan. It offers professional academic degrees and plays a role akin to that of the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, United States, in producing highly skilled naval officers.

The Ministry of Defence extends its heartfelt congratulations to Midshipman Tennakoon on his remarkable achievement.
