Myanmar DA in Sri Lanka calls on Defence Secretary
January 28, 2025The Defence Adviser to the Embassy of Myanmar in Sri Lanka, Brigadier General Zaw Moe Lwin called on the Defence Secretary Air Vice Marshal Sampath Thuyacontha (Retd) at the Defence Ministry in Sri Jayawardenepura, Kotte today (Jan 28).
During the meeting, the two officials engaged in a cordial discussion on matters of mutual interest and explored avenues for further strengthening the defence cooperation between Sri Lanka and Myanmar.
Emphasizing the long-standing ties between the two nations, Brigadier General Lwin highlighted the potential for collaboration in areas such as maritime security and defence training programs.
The meeting concluded with an exchange of mementos as a token of goodwill and mutual respect. Military Liaison Officer of the Defence Ministry was also present at the occasion.
