Deputy Minister of Defence visits PNS ASLAT
February 04, 2025Deputy Minister of Defence Major General Aruna Jayasekara (Retd) visited the Pakistan Naval Ship (PNS) ASLAT on Monday evening (Feb 03) which arrived in Sri Lanka on Sunday for an official visit.
Minister of Trade, Commerce, Food Security and Cooperative Development Hon. Wasantha Samarasinghe joined the event onboard as the Chief Guest. Defence Secretary Air Vice Marshal Sampath Thuyacontha (Retd) also joined the Deputy Minister of Defence on this occasion.
The Commanding Officer of the ship, Captain Muhammad Azhar Akram, received the distinguished guests on their arrival on board ship. The High Commissioner of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Sri Lanka H.E. Major General Faheem-Ul-Aziz (Retd) was also present at the event.
Deputy Speaker of the Parliament of Sri Lanka, Tri Forces Commanders, former commanders, senior defence ministry officials, senior Tri Forces officers, Vice Chancellor of General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University, Commandant of the National Defence College, Commandant of the Defence Services Command and Staff College, Defence Advisor to the High Commission of Pakistan in Sri Lanka, members of the diplomatic corps and a group of distinguished invitees joined the occasion.
