Director General - SLRCS meets Deputy Minister of Defence
February 05, 2025Director General of the Sri Lanka Red Cross Society (SLRCS), Dr. Mahesh Gunasekara paid a courtesy visit to the Deputy Minister of Defence, Major General Aruna Jayasekara (Retd), on Monday (Feb 03) at his office.
During the meeting, Dr. Gunasekara briefed the Deputy Minister on the ongoing humanitarian initiatives undertaken by SLRCS across the country, particularly in disaster response, healthcare support and community resilience programs.
Deputy Minister commended the invaluable contributions of the SLRCS in providing humanitarian assistance, particularly in times of natural disasters and health emergencies. He reaffirmed the Ministry of Defence’s support for collaborative efforts aimed at strengthening disaster preparedness and response mechanisms.
