Outgoing NCC Director Bids Farewell to Defence Secretary
February 14, 2025Outgoing Director of the National Cadet Corps (NCC), Major General Sudantha Fonseka, paid a farewell visit to Defence Secretary Air Vice Marshal Sampath Thuyacontha (Retd) at the Defence Ministry in Sri Jayawardenepura, Kotte, today (Feb 14).
During the meeting, the Defence Secretary expressed his appreciation for Major General Fonseka’s dedicated service and exemplary leadership, recognizing his significant contributions to both the Sri Lanka Army and the NCC.
He commended the outgoing Director for his efforts in elevating the NCC to new heights and fostering discipline, leadership and national pride among school cadets. The Defence Secretary also extended his best wishes to Major General Fonseka for a fulfilling retirement.
The visit concluded on a warm and respectful note, with the exchange of mementoes to commemorate the occasion, symbolizing gratitude and goodwill.
