A Successful Rescue Operation from Gemunu WatchTroops
March 03, 2025In a remarkable display of courage and coordination, the disaster relief troops located at Nonperial detachment of the Gemunu Watch had successfully rescued 35 civilians on 01 March 2025 who trapped due to the sudden rising of the water level of Hirikatu oya.
A group of 75 local tourists from Kolonnawa who were on a visit around the Nonperial area had faced to this unfortunate incident.
The results of quick respond by the Gemunu watch troops were able to rescue the civilians before further rising of the water level of Hirikatu Oya.
Troops of the disaster relief team located at Nonperial Detachment had participated for this rescue operation.
