Deputy Minister of Defence Visits National Defence College
March 09, 2025Deputy Minister of Defence, Major General Aruna Jayasekara (Retd), paid an official visit to the National Defence College (NDC) in Colombo on Friday (Mar 7).
Upon his arrival, the Deputy Minister was warmly welcomed by the Commandant of NDC, Major General Chamila Munasinghe. The two dignitaries engaged in a cordial discussion at the Commandant’s office before proceeding with the scheduled engagements.
As part of the visit, Major General Munasinghe delivered an introductory presentation outlining the functions and role of NDC. The Deputy Minister also had the opportunity to observe an on-going lecture for student officers in the college auditorium. Further, he had an interactive session with senior officers attending the NDC course, focusing on
contemporary security challenges.
Following this, Major General Jayasekara (Retd) toured the NDC premises to gain deeper insights into the institution’s structure and operations. He then signed the college’s visitor’s book, leaving a complimentary note, before joining the faculty staff for an official group photograph.
The visit underscored the commitment to strengthening national security education within Sri Lanka and fostering collaboration between the Ministry and the NDC.
