Deputy Minister of Defence makes guest lecture
at the DSCSC 'Diner's Club'

Delivering an inspirational lecture at the first 'Diners’ Club' event for term 1 of Course No. 19 of the Defence Services Command and Staff College (DSCSC) in Makola, the Deputy Minister of Defence Major General Aruna Jayasekara (Retd) spoke on ‘Strategic Challenges and Law & Order: Safeguarding Sri Lanka’s Path to Prosperity,’ and offered valuable perspectives on crucial topics related to national security and governance, creating a thought-provoking atmosphere for the event.

The event was held last evening (Mar 12) at the DSCSC Officer's Mess. The 'Diner's Club' is a important event in the DSCSC course structure.

The Deputy Minister of Defence further emphasized the importance of shifting mindsets to cultivate a sense of belonging and unity within the nation, aligning with the central aim of the government’s policy, ‘Clean Sri Lanka.’ He also reaffirmed the government's dedication to incorporating new technology into the Sri Lankan Armed Forces, highlighting that the maritime domain is a crucial focus in the country’s development program.

The event exemplified the DSCSC's dedication in providing high end professional military education and also its commitment in encouraging strategic discussions among its local and international students.

Concluding the event the DSCSC Commandant Maj. Gen. HHKSS Hewage presented a memento to the Deputy Minister as a token of appreciation and his gracious presence to the DSCSC.

DSCSC officials including the Deputy Commandant, members of the academic and administrative staff and spouses of the student officers were also present at the occasion.
