Newly Appointed NCC Director Calls on Deputy Minister of Defence

The newly appointed Director of the National Cadet Corps (NCC), Brigadier Rajitha Premathilake, met with Deputy Minister of Defence Major General Aruna Jayasekara (Retd), at his office on Thursday (Mar 27).

During the meeting, Brigadier Premathilake expressed his gratitude to the Deputy Minister for the continued support and guidance extended to the NCC. He also provided an overview of the ongoing training programs, leadership development initiatives for school cadets, and future plans aimed at further enhancing the NCC’s role in youth development.

Major General Jayasekara (Retd) commended the NCC’s contributions to instilling discipline, leadership, and patriotism among young cadets. He reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to strengthening the organization and supporting its mission to shape responsible and capable future leaders.

Discussions also focused on expanding NCC activities, incorporating advanced training methodologies and forging stronger partnerships with educational institutions and other national organizations to broaden the impact of cadet training programs.

The meeting concluded on a positive note, with both parties expressing their mutual commitment to advancing the NCC’s role in nation-building and youth empowerment.
