562 persons left hospitals yesterday after complete recovery from the virus
January 03, 2021The total Coronavirus positives identified during the last 24 hours ending at 06.00 a.m. today (January 03) stands at 515 and the total cases in the country increased to 44,370, the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) stated.
13 persons among the total positives identified yesterday were Sri Lankans repatriated from overseas and two foreigners while 144 of them have been identified from Gampaha District, 96 from Kandy District, 47 from Colombo District and 215 persons from other districts, the NOCPCO confirmed today (January 03).
The numbers of infected persons associated with the Minuwangoda and Peliyagoda Fish Market cluster increased to 40,606 and out of them, a total of 33,959 have left hospitals following complete recovery.
NOCPCO also stated that a total of 14,600 PCR tests were conducted yesterday (02).
Meanwhile, the total arrival in the country as of today morning reads as 181 which included 43 persons from Maldives, 16 from Qatar, 12 from Australia, 50 from Japan and 60 from UAE. They all will be referred to quarantine centres managed by Tri-Forces.

The total recovery from the virus in the country rose to 36,716 persons. 7,443 Coronavirus patients are undergoing medical treatments while 4,735 persons are quarantining under 73 centres managed by Tri-Forces, NOCPCO added.
The country’s COVID-19 death toll has increased to 211 along with three Coronavirus deaths reported during the last 24 hours.
