Sri Lanka’stotal recovery from the virus rose to 37,251 persons - NOCPCO
January 04, 2021The total Coronavirus positives identified during the last 24 hours ending at 06.00 a.m. today (January 04) stands at 403 and the total cases in the country increased to 44,773, the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) stated.
All the positives identified yesterday were Sri Lankans while 81 of them have been identified from Colombo District, 56 from Kandy District, 30 from Gampaha District and 236 persons from other districts, the NOCPCO confirmed today (January 04).
The number of infected persons associated with the Minuwangoda and Peliyagoda Fish Market cluster increased to 41,009 and out of them, a total of 34,494 have left hospitals following complete recovery.
NOCPCO also stated that a total of 10,719 PCR tests were conducted yesterday (03).
Meanwhile, the total arrival in the country as of today morning reads as 77 which included 50 persons from Saudi Arabia and 27 from Qatar. They all will be referred to quarantine centres managed by Tri-Forces.
A total of 535 persons have left hospitals yesterday after complete recovery from the virus.
The total recovery from the virus in the country rose to 37,251 persons. 7,309 Coronavirus patients are undergoing medical treatments while 4,580 persons are quarantining under 79 centres managed by Tri-Forces, NOCPCO added.
The country’s COVID-19 death toll has increased to 213 along with two Coronavirus deaths reported during the last 24 hours.
