565 persons left hospitals yesterday after complete recovery from the virus
January 05, 2021The total Coronavirus positives identified during the last 24 hours ending at 06.00 a.m. today (January 05) stands at 468 and the total cases in the country increased to 45,241, the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) stated.
One person among the total positives identified yesterday was a Sri Lankan repatriated from the overseas while 183 of them have been identified from Colombo District, 73 from Kandy District, 72 from Gampaha District and 139 persons from other districts, the NOCPCO confirmed today (January 05).
The number of infected persons associated with the Minuwangoda and Peliyagoda Fish Market cluster increased to 41,476 and out of them, a total of 35,059 have left hospitals following complete recovery.
NOCPCO also stated that a total of 12,826 PCR tests were conducted yesterday (04).
Meanwhile, the total arrival in the country as of today morning reads as 164 which included 66 persons from Abudabi, 93 from Qatar and 5 from China. They all will be referred to quarantine centres managed by Tri-Forces.
A total of 565 persons have left hospitals yesterday after complete recovery from the virus.
The total recovery from the virus in the country rose to 37,816 persons. 7,212 Coronavirus patients are undergoing medical treatments while 4,945 persons are quarantining under 79 centres managed by Tri-Forces, NOCPCO added.
The country’s COVID-19 death toll has increased to 215 along with two Coronavirus deaths reported during the last 24 hours.
