Sri Lanka’s total recovery from the virus rose to 38,261 persons - NOCPCO
January 06, 2021The total Coronavirus positives identified during the last 24 hours ending at 06.00 a.m. today (January 06) stands at 484 and the total cases in the country increased to 45,725, the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) stated.
Five persons among the total positives identified yesterday were Sri Lankans repatriated from the overseas while 121 of them have been identified from Colombo District, 110 from Gampaha District, 30 from Galle District and 218 persons from other districts, the NOCPCO confirmed today (January 06).
The number of infected persons associated with the Minuwangoda and Peliyagoda Fish Market cluster increased to 41,955 and out of them, a total of 35,504 have left hospitals following complete recovery.
NOCPCO also stated that a total of 10,774 PCR tests were conducted yesterday (05).
Meanwhile, the total arrival in the country as of today morning reads as 206 which included 50 persons from Maldives, 74 from Qatar and 82 from Dubai. They all will be referred to quarantine centres managed by Tri-Forces.
A total of 565 persons have left hospitals yesterday after complete recovery from the virus.
The total recovery from the virus in the country rose to 38,261 persons. 7,247 Coronavirus patients are undergoing medical treatments while 5,037 persons are quarantining under 75 centres managed by Tri-Forces, NOCPCO added.
The country’s COVID-19 death toll has increased to 217 along with two Coronavirus deaths reported during the last 24 hours.
