SLN nabs 124 kilos of Kerala Cannabis in Northern seas
January 08, 2021Sri Lanka Navy (SLN), nabbed 124 kilos and 65 grams of Kerala cannabis during a special raid carried out at the Northern seas recently (Jan 6).
The operation led under the directives of the Northern Naval Command, off the seas of Mailaddi in Kankesanthurai, nabbed two suspects, with the haul of cannabis and their dinghy during the operation, SLN said.
According to the SLN sources, the accused identified as residents of Nelliadi and Velvetithurai, aged 27 and 31, were handed over to the Kankesanthurai Police along with their boat and seized items for onward legal proceedings.
