A total of 17,217 PCR tests conducted yesterday (09) - NOCPCO
January 10, 2021The total Coronavirus positives identified during the last 24 hours ending at 06.00 a.m. today (January 10) stands at 535 and the total cases in the country increased to 47,839, the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) stated.
All the positives identified yesterday were Sri Lankans while, 148 have been identified from Colombo District, 111 from Kandy District, 64 from Kegalle District and 212 persons from other districts, the NOCPCO confirmed today (January 10).
The number of infected persons associated with the Minuwangoda and Peliyagoda Fish Market cluster increased to 44,060 and out of them, a total of 38,080 have left hospitals following complete recovery.
NOCPCO also stated that a total of 17,217 PCR tests were conducted yesterday (09).
Meanwhile, the total arrival in the country as of today morning reads as 195 which included 24 persons from Maldives, 45 persons from Qatar, 68 persons from United Arab Emirates, 08 persons from Australia and 50 persons from Japan. They all will be referred to quarantine centres managed by Tri-Forces.
A total of 521 persons have left hospitals yesterday (09) after complete recovery from the virus.
The total recovery from the virus in the country rose to 40,837 persons. 6,773 Coronavirus patients are undergoing medical treatments while 6,150 persons are quarantining under 76 centres managed by Tri-Forces, NOCPCO added.
The country’s COVID-19 death toll has increased to 229 along with four Coronavirus deaths reported during the last 24 hours.
