Sri Lanka’s total recovery from the virus rose to 41,324 persons - NOCPCO
January 11, 2021The total Coronavirus positives identified during the last 24 hours ending at 06.00 a.m. today (January 11) stands at 543 and the total cases in the country increased to 48,382, the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) stated.
Seven persons among the total positives identified yesterday were Sri Lankans repatriated from the overseas while 217 have been identified from Colombo District, 85 from Gampaha District, 40 from Ratnapura District and 194 persons from other districts, the NOCPCO confirmed today (January 11).
The number of infected persons associated with the Minuwangoda and Peliyagoda Fish Market cluster increased to 44,596 and out of them, a total of 38,567 have left hospitals following complete recovery.
NOCPCO also stated that a total of 16,206 PCR tests were conducted yesterday (10).
Meanwhile, the total arrival in the country as of today morning reads as 471 which included 100 persons from Saudi Arabia, 81 persons from Qatar, 290 persons from United Arab Emirates. They all will be referred to quarantine centres managed by Tri-Forces.
A total of 487 persons have left hospitals yesterday (10) after complete recovery from the virus.
The total recovery from the virus in the country rose to 41,324 persons. 6,826 Coronavirus patients are undergoing medical treatments while 5,961 persons are quarantining under 73 centres managed by Tri-Forces, NOCPCO added.
The country’s COVID-19 death toll has increased to 232 along with three Coronavirus deaths reported during the last 24 hours.
