A total of 13,224 PCR tests conducted yesterday (11) - NOCPCO
January 12, 2021The total Coronavirus positives identified during the last 24 hours ending at 06.00 a.m. today (January 12) stands at 569 and the total cases in the country increased to 48,951, the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) stated.
One person among the total positives identified yesterday was a Sri Lankan repatriated from overseas while 110 have been identified from Kaluthara District, 88 from Gampaha District, 52 from Kegalle District and 318 persons from other districts, the NOCPCO confirmed today (January 12).
The number of infected persons associated with the Minuwangoda and Peliyagoda Fish Market cluster increased to 45,164 and out of them, a total of 39,333 have left hospitals following complete recovery.
NOCPCO also stated that a total of 13,224 PCR tests were conducted yesterday (11).
Meanwhile, the total arrival in the country as of today morning reads as 434 which included 311 persons from Qatar, 76 persons from Maldives, 46 persons from the United Arab Emirates, one person from China. They all will be referred to quarantine centres managed by Tri-Forces.
A total of 766 persons have left hospitals yesterday (11) after complete recovery from the virus.
The total recovery from the virus in the country rose to 42,090 persons. 6,621 Coronavirus patients are undergoing medical treatments while 6,267 persons are quarantining under 75 centres managed by Tri-Forces, NOCPCO added.
The country’s COVID-19 death toll has increased to 240 along with eight Coronavirus deaths reported during the last 24 hours.
