Sri Lanka’s total recovery from the virus rose to 42,620 persons - NOCPCO
January 13, 2021The total Coronavirus positives identified during the last 24 hours ending at 06.00 a.m. today (January 13) stands at 588 and the total cases in the country increased to 49,539, the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) stated.
Four persons among the total positives identified yesterday were Sri Lankans repatriated from overseas while 158 have been identified from Gampaha District, 147 from Colombo District, 43 from Kandy District and 236 persons from other districts, the NOCPCO confirmed today (January 13).
The number of infected persons associated with the Minuwangoda and Peliyagoda Fish Market cluster increased to 45,748 and out of them, a total of 39,863 have left hospitals following complete recovery.
NOCPCO also stated that a total of 12,139 PCR tests were conducted yesterday (12).
Meanwhile, the total arrival in the country as of today morning reads as 197 which included 114 persons from Qatar, 73 persons from United Arab Emirates, 10 persons from Maldives. They all will be referred to quarantine centres managed by Tri-Forces.
A total of 530 persons have left hospitals yesterday (12) after complete recovery from the virus.
The total recovery from the virus in the country rose to 42,620 persons. 6,675 Coronavirus patients are undergoing medical treatments while 6,606 persons are quarantining under 80 centres managed by Tri-Forces, NOCPCO added.
The country’s COVID-19 death toll has increased to 244 along with four Coronavirus deaths reported during the last 24 hours.
