A total of 14,329 PCR tests conducted yesterday (13) - NOCPCO
January 14, 2021The total Coronavirus positives identified during the last 24 hours ending at 06.00 a.m. today (January 14) stands at 692 and the total cases in the country increased to 50,231 the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) stated.
Five persons among the total positives identified yesterday were Sri Lankans repatriated from overseas while 119 have been identified from Gampaha District, 223 from Colombo District, 112 from Kaluthara District and 233 persons from other districts, the NOCPCO confirmed today (January 14).
The number of infected persons associated with the Minuwangoda and Peliyagoda Fish Market cluster increased to 46,435 and out of them, a total of 40,509 have left hospitals following complete recovery.
NOCPCO also stated that a total of 14,329 PCR tests were conducted yesterday (13).
Meanwhile, the total arrival in the country as of today morning reads as 206 which included 45 persons from Qatar, 66 persons from United Arab Emirates, 95 persons from South Korea. They all will be referred to quarantine centres managed by Tri-Forces.
A total of 646 persons have left hospitals yesterday (14) after complete recovery from the virus.
The total recovery from the virus in the country rose to 43,266 persons. 6,718 Coronavirus patients are undergoing medical treatments while 6,703 persons are quarantining under 81 centres managed by Tri-Forces, NOCPCO added.
The country’s COVID-19 death toll has increased to 247 along with three Coronavirus deaths reported during the last 24 hours.
