Sri Lanka’s total recovery from the virus rose to 43,746 persons - NOCPCO
January 15, 2021The total Coronavirus positives identified during the last 24 hours ending at 06.00 a.m. today (January 15) stands at 670 and the total cases in the country increased to 50,901, the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) stated.
All the positives identified yesterday were Sri Lankans while 116 have been identified from Gampaha District, 214 from Colombo District, 90 from Kandy District and 250 persons from other districts, the NOCPCO confirmed today (January 15).
The number of infected persons associated with the Minuwangoda and Peliyagoda Fish Market cluster increased to 47,105 and out of them, a total of 40,989 have left hospitals following complete recovery.
NOCPCO also stated that a total of 14,565 PCR tests were conducted yesterday (14).
Meanwhile, the total arrival in the country as of today morning reads as 109 which included 28 persons from Qatar, 44 persons from Australia and 37 persons from Japan. They all will be referred to quarantine centres managed by Tri-Forces.
A total of 480 persons have left hospitals today (15) after complete recovery from the virus.
The total recovery from the virus in the country rose to 50,901 persons. 6,904 Coronavirus patients are undergoing medical treatments while 6,790 persons are quarantining under 81 centres managed by Tri-Forces, NOCPCO added.
The country’s COVID-19 death toll has increased to 251 along with four Coronavirus deaths reported during the last 24 hours.
