A total of 15,218 PCR tests conducted yesterday (17) - NOCPCO
January 18, 2021The total Coronavirus positives identified during the last 24 hours ending at 06.00 a.m. today (January 18) stands at 763 and the total cases in the country increased to 53,075, the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) stated.
Fourteen persons among the total positives identified yesterday were Sri Lankans repatriated while 241 have been identified from Colombo District, 210 from Gampaha District, 41 from Matara District and 257 persons from other districts, the NOCPCO confirmed today (January 18).
The number of infected persons associated with the Minuwangoda and Peliyagoda Fish Market cluster increased to 49,252 and out of them, a total of 42,413 have left hospitals following complete recovery.
NOCPCO also stated that a total of 15,218 PCR tests were conducted yesterday (17).
Meanwhile, the total arrival in the country as of today morning reads as 104 which included 75 persons from Saudi Arabia and 29 persons from Qatar. They all will be referred to quarantine centres managed by Tri-Forces.
A total of 425 persons have left hospitals yesterday (17) after complete recovery from the virus.
The total recovery from the virus in the country rose to 45,170 persons. 7,641 Coronavirus patients are undergoing medical treatments while 7,173 persons are quarantining under 83 centres managed by Tri-Forces, NOCPCO added.
The country’s COVID-19 death toll has increased to 264 along with eight Coronavirus deaths reported during the last 24 hours.
