Army’s new Chief of Staff takes Office
January 19, 2021Maj. Gen. Senarath Bandara of Gemunu Watch assumed office as the 57th Chief of Staff of the Army at the Army Headquarters, yesterday (Jan 18).
He was serving as the Commander, Security Forces Jaffna before being appointed to the second highest office in the Army.
During the military career of 35 years in the Army, Maj. Gen. Bandara has held a number of key appointments in the Army and he served as the Defence Attaché at the High Commission of Sri Lanka in Islamabad, Pakistan from 2015 to 2017.
A representative gathering was present to extend best wishes to him at the occasion.
