649 persons left hospitals yesterday after complete recovery from the virus

The total Coronavirus positives identified during the last 24 hours ending at 06.00 a.m. today (January 19) stands at 674 and the total cases in the country increased to 53,749, the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) stated.

Forty-seven persons among the total positives identified yesterday were Sri Lankans repatriated from the overseas while 197 of them have been identified from Colombo District, 54 from Kurunegala District, 165 from Gampaha District and 211 persons from other districts, the NOCPCO confirmed today (January 19).

The number of infected persons associated with the Minuwangoda and Peliyagoda Fish Market cluster increased to 49,879 and out of them, a total of 43,062 have left hospitals following complete recovery.

NOCPCO also stated that a total of 14,984 PCR tests were conducted yesterday (18).

Meanwhile, the total arrival in the country as of today morning reads as 94 which included 33 persons from Saudi Arabia, 22 from Qatar and 39 from China. They all will be referred to quarantine centres managed by Tri-Forces.

A total of 649 persons have left hospitals yesterday after complete recovery from the virus.

The total recovery from the virus in the country rose to 45,819 persons. 7,660 Coronavirus patients are undergoing medical treatments while 8,198 persons are quarantining under 92 centres managed by Tri-Forces, NOCPCO added.

The country’s COVID-19 death toll has increased to 270 along with six Coronavirus deaths reported during the last 24 hours.
