Sri Lanka’s total recovery from the virus rose to 47,214 persons - NOCPCO
January 21, 2021The total Coronavirus positives identified during the last 24 hours ending at 06.00 a.m. today (January 21) stands at 770 and the total cases in the country increased to 55,188, the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) stated.
Two persons among the total positives identified yesterday were Sri Lankans repatriated from overseas while 270 have been identified from Colombo District, 80 from Gampaha District, 56 from Matara District and 362 persons from other districts, the NOCPCO confirmed today (January 21).
The number of infected persons associated with the Minuwangoda and Peliyagoda Fish Market cluster increased to 51,307 and out of them, a total of 45,117 have left hospitals following complete recovery.
NOCPCO also stated that a total of 18,072 PCR tests were conducted yesterday (20).
Meanwhile, the total arrival in the country as of today morning reads as 106 which included 17 persons from Qatar, 76 persons from Saudi Arabia and 13 persons from Korea. They all will be referred to quarantine centres managed by Tri-Forces.
A total of 621 persons have left hospitals yesterday (20) after complete recovery from the virus.
The total recovery from the virus in the country rose to 47,214 persons. 7,700 Coronavirus patients are undergoing medical treatments while 7,842 persons are quarantining under 96 centres managed by Tri-Forces, NOCPCO added.
The country’s COVID-19 death toll has increased to 274 along with one Coronavirus death reported during the last 24 hours.
