Army averts Kandankulam tank bund burst
January 22, 2021Untiring effort exerted by the Sri Lanka Army prevented the likely burst of the Kandankulam tank bund at Selvanagar, Kilinochchi while laying sandbags around the vulnerable spots yesterday (Jan 21).
Troops serving under the purview of the Security Force Headquarters, Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN) were deployed for the disaster mitigation.
Accordingly, 7 Sri Lanka Light Infantry and 12 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment troops jointly attended the task under the directives of the SF-KLN Commander.
The villagers also extended supportive hands in the operation which was directed by the senior military officers, District Secretary and several other state officials.
