A total of 19,285 PCR tests conducted yesterday (22) - NOCPCO
January 23, 2021The total Coronavirus positives identified during the last 24 hours ending at 06.00 a.m. today (January 23) stands at 787 and the total cases in the country increased to 56,862, the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) stated.
Three persons among the total positives identified yesterday were Sri Lankans repatriated while 139 have been identified from Gampaha District, 108 from Kandy District, 101 from Colombo District and 436 persons from other districts, the NOCPCO confirmed today (January 23).
The number of infected persons associated with the Minuwangoda and Peliyagoda Fish Market cluster increased to 52,964 and out of them, a total of 43,460 have left hospitals following complete recovery.
NOCPCO also stated that a total of 19,285 PCR tests were conducted yesterday (22).
A total of 633 persons have left hospitals today (23) after complete recovery from the virus.
The total recovery from the virus in the country rose to 48,616 persons. 7,968 Coronavirus patients are undergoing medical treatments while 8,141 persons are quarantining under 90 centres managed by Tri-Forces, NOCPCO added.
The country’s COVID-19 death toll has increased to 278 along with two Coronavirus deaths reported during the last 24 hours.
