Sri Lanka’s total recovery from the virus rose to 49,683 persons – NOCPCO
January 25, 2021The total Coronavirus positives identified during the last 24 hours ending at 06.00 a.m. today (January 25) stands at 843 and the total cases in the country increased to 58,429, the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) stated.
Two persons among the total positives identified yesterday were Sri Lankans repatriated from the overseas while 480 of them have been identified from Colombo District, 86 from Gampaha District, 72 from Kaluthara District and 203 persons from other districts, the NOCPCO confirmed today (January 25).
The number of infected persons associated with the Minuwangoda and Peliyagoda Fish Market cluster increased to 54,529 and out of them, a total of 44,527 have left hospitals following complete recovery.
The NOCPCO also stated that a total of 17,523 PCR tests were conducted yesterday (24).
A total of 423 persons have left hospitals yesterday after complete recovery from the virus.
The total recovery from the virus in the country rose to 49,683 persons. 8,463 Coronavirus patients are undergoing medical treatments while 7,812 persons are quarantining under 94 centres managed by Tri-Forces, NOCPCO added.
The country’s COVID-19 death toll has increased to 283 along with three Coronavirus deaths reported during the last 24 hours.
