Sri Lanka’s total Coronavirus recoveries rose to 50,336 persons

The total Coronavirus positives identified during the last 24 hours ending at 06.00 a.m. today (January 26) stands at 737 and the total cases in the country increased to 59,166, the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) stated.

All the positives identified yesterday were Sri Lankans while 227 of them have been identified from Colombo District, 102 from Kaluthara District, 96 from Gampaha District and 312 persons from other districts, the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) said.

The number of infected persons associated with the Minuwangoda and Peliyagoda Fish Market cluster increased to 55,226 and out of them, a total of 45,180 have left hospitals following complete recovery.

NOCPCO also stated that a total of 14,799 PCR tests were conducted yesterday (25).

A total of 653 persons have left hospitals yesterday after complete recovery from the virus.

The total recovery from the virus in the country rose to 50,336 persons. 8,543 Coronavirus patients are undergoing medical treatments while 7,996 persons are quarantining under 95 centres managed by Tri-Forces, NOCPCO added.

The country’s COVID-19 death toll has increased to 287 along with four Coronavirus deaths reported during the last 24 hours.
