1520 persons left hospitals yesterday after complete recovery from the virus

The total Coronavirus positives identified during the last 24 hours ending at 06.00 a.m. today (January 28) stands at 772 and the total cases in the country increased to 60,693 the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) stated.

Thirty persons among the total positives identified yesterday were Sri Lankans repatriated from the overseas while 189 of them have been identified from Colombo District, 178 from Gampaha District and 93 from Kaluthara District, and 282 persons from other districts, the NOCPCO confirmed today (January 28).

The number of infected persons associated with the Minuwangoda and Peliyagoda Fish Market cluster increased to 56,756 and out of them, a total of 47,409 have left hospitals following complete recovery.

NOCPCO also stated that a total of 15,259 PCR tests were conducted yesterday (27).

A total of 1,520 persons have left hospitals yesterday after complete recovery from the virus.

The total recovery from the virus in the country rose to 52,565 persons. 7,838 Coronavirus patients are undergoing medical treatments while 8,252 persons are quarantining under 97 centres managed by Tri-Forces, NOCPCO added.

The country’s COVID-19 death toll has increased to 290 along with two Coronavirus deaths reported during the last 24 hours.
