SLN recovers 31 kilos of cannabis at Manthai beach
January 29, 2021The Sri Lanka Navy’s (SLN) North Central Naval Command seized approx. 31 kilos of Kerala cannabis in Manthai area on 26 Jan.
The smuggled Kerala cannabis was found in 14 parcels, hidden in shrubs by drug peddlers near the Manthai beach, the SLN said.
The street value of the recovered stock of Kerala cannabis is believed to be Rs. 11 million, the SLN also said.
The entire operation was conducted adhering to healthcare guidelines, the SLN confirmed.
Items seized were handed over to the Vankalai Police for onward investigations.
