Total virus recovery rose to 61,460 persons

The total Coronavirus positives identified during the last 24 hours ending at 06.00 a.m. today (February 06) stands at 735 and the total cases in the country increased to 67,849, the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) stated.

Six persons among the total positives identified yesterday were Sri Lankans repatriated from the overseas while 158 of them have been identified from Colombo District, 105 from Badulla District and 94 from Kandy District, and 372 persons from other districts, the NOCPCO confirmed today (February 06).

The number of infected persons associated with the Minuwangoda and Peliyagoda Fish Market cluster increased to 63,854 and out of them, a total of 60,047 have left hospitals following complete recovery.

The NOCPCO also stated that a total of 12,024 PCR tests were conducted yesterday (05).

A total of 894 persons have left hospitals yesterday after complete recovery from the virus.

The total recovery from the virus in the country rose to 61,460 persons. 6,046 Coronavirus patients are undergoing medical treatments while 7,941 persons are quarantining under 90 centres managed by Tri-Forces, the NOCPCO added.

The country’s COVID-19 death toll has increased to 343 along with four Coronavirus deaths reported during the last 24 hours.
