Total virus recovery in Sri Lanka rose to 63,400 persons
February 08, 2021The total Coronavirus positives identified during the last 24 hours ending at 06.00 a.m. today (February 08) stands at 772 and the total cases in the country increased to 69,347, the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) stated.
All the positives identified yesterday were Sri Lankans while 245 of them have been identified from Colombo District, 214 from Gampaha District and 53 from Ratnapura District and 260 persons from other districts, the NOCPCO confirmed today (February 08).
The number of infected persons associated with the Minuwangoda and Peliyagoda Fish Market cluster increased to 65,352 and out of them, a total of 61,987 have left hospitals following complete recovery.
The NOCPCO also stated that a total of 15,746 PCR tests were conducted yesterday (07).
A total of 807 persons have left hospitals yesterday after complete recovery from the virus.
The total recovery from the virus in the country rose to 63,400 persons. 5,591 Coronavirus patients are undergoing medical treatments while 8,027 persons are quarantining under 91 centres managed by Tri-Forces, the NOCPCO added.
The country’s COVID-19 death toll has increased to 356 along with five Coronavirus deaths reported during the last 24 hours.
