SLA troops recover remains of missing person
February 10, 2021The Sri Lanka Army (SLA) had recovered the remains of Dinura Wijesundara last night (Feb 9) who went missing in the dense jungle around the Mini World’s End in Bibila, during an excursion.
An extensive search and rescue operation led by the 112 Brigade and Special Forces (SF) under the supervision of Commander, Security Forces - Central, 112 Brigade Commander and SF Brigade Commander commenced amidst unfavourable weather on Sunday (7) with a view to find the missing.
Emergency ambulances and the Air Force were also on standby during the search operation.
The 35-year old victim is a resident from Maggona, Kalutara and he was on an excursion with 11 other persons last Saturday (Feb 6) amidst bad weather conditions.
The remains had been recovered from a depth of about 1200 ft of the Mini World’s End precipice.
