Total virus recovery in Sri Lanka rose to 70,428 persons
February 17, 2021The total Coronavirus positives identified during the last 24 hours ending at 06.00 a.m. today (February 17) stands at 756 and the total cases in the country increased to 77,183, the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) stated.
All the positives identified yesterday were Sri Lankans while 172 have been identified from Colombo District, 168 from Gampaha District, 73 from Rathnapura District and 343 persons from other districts, the NOCPCO confirmed today (February 17).
The number of infected persons associated with the Minuwangoda and Peliyagoda Fish Market cluster increased to 73,662 and out of them, a total of 69,035 have left hospitals following complete recovery.
The NOCPCO also stated that a total of 11,721 PCR tests were conducted yesterday (16).
A total of 1,018 persons have left hospitals yesterday after complete recovery from the virus.
The total recovery from the virus in the country rose to 70,428 persons. 6,346 Coronavirus patients are undergoing medical treatments while 9,099 persons are quarantining under 89 centres managed by Tri-Forces, the NOCPCO added.
The country’s COVID-19 death toll has increased to 409 along with six Coronavirus deaths reported during the last 24 hours.
