A total of 11,779 PCR tests conducted yesterday (22) - NOCPCO

The total Coronavirus positives identified during the last 24 hours ending at 06.00 a.m. today (February 23) stands at 518 and the total cases in the country increased to 80,516, the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) stated.

28 persons among the total positives identified yesterday were Sri Lankans while 175 of them have been identified from Colombo District, 77 from Gampaha District, 41 from Kandy District and 197 persons from other districts, the NOCPCO said.

The number of infected persons associated with the Minuwangoda and Peliyagoda Fish Market cluster increased to 76,918 and out of them, a total of 73,716 have left hospitals following complete recovery.

The NOCPCO also stated that a total of 11,779 PCR tests were conducted yesterday (22).

A total of 811 persons have left hospitals yesterday after complete recovery from the virus.

The total recovery from the virus in the country rose to 75,109 persons. 4,957 Coronavirus patients are undergoing medical treatments while 9,618 persons are quarantining under 97 centres managed by Tri-Forces, the NOCPCO added.

The country’s COVID-19 death toll has increased to 450 along with 5 Coronavirus deaths reported during the last 24 hours.
