Virus recovery in SL rose to 75,841 persons
February 24, 2021The total Coronavirus positives identified during the last 24 hours ending at 06.00 a.m. today (February 24) stands at 492 and the total cases in the country increased to 81,008, the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) stated.
All positives identified yesterday were Sri Lankans repatriated from overseas while 103 have been identified from Colombo District, 88 from Gampaha District, 53 from Ampara District and 248 persons from other districts, the NOCPCO confirmed today (24).
The number of infected persons associated with the Minuwangoda and Peliyagoda Fish Market cluster increased to 77,410 and out of them, a total of 74,448 have left hospitals following complete recovery.
The NOCPCO also stated that a total of 11,222 PCR tests were conducted yesterday (23).
A total of 732 persons have left hospitals yesterday after complete recovery from the virus.
The total recovery from the virus in the country rose to 75,841 persons. 4,714 Coronavirus patients are undergoing medical treatments while 9,562 persons are quarantining under 94 centres managed by Tri-Forces, the NOCPCO added.
The country’s COVID-19 death toll has increased to 453 along with three Coronavirus deaths reported during the last 24 hours.
